Northamptonshire's wicket has received a special commendation from the ECB.
The pitches at The Oval took the top prize in both the one and four-day categories for the 2008 season.

But the Wantage Road track received a glowing reference in the four-day section and received a commendation alongside Test venues Lord's and Old Trafford.

It is also a welcome positive acknowledgement for the ground after receiving more than its fair share of criticism in recent seasons.
And Marshall was happy to pay tribute to his band of workers at the County Ground.

"It is very much a team effort," head groundsman Paul Marshall said. "Anyone will tell you that we're the first to arrive and the last to leave.

"It's not just roll, roll, roll. It takes a lot of hard work so it is nice to be recognised."
