Prayer bunting has been placed outside St James Church

Prayers of thanks, messages of hope and colourful drawings of praise have been placed on a church wall to help bring a community closure together.

The parishioners at St James the Great Church in Gretton were missing the visits of school children who would leave prayers on the tree in the Lady Chapel.

So they decided to ask the children of the parish to create prayer bunting to share their prayers with the village community. It has been hung on the stone wall outside the historic church in Station Road.

Gretton Primary headteacher Jane McDonald and the staff at Gretton Primary helped youngsters create the display which includes messages of thanks to keyworkers, the school and the NHS.
