The 42 year old Kettering man arrested yesterday, Tuesday 18 November, in connection with the investigation into claims of racist behaviour at a football match between Kettering Town and Lincoln City on Saturday, November 8, in Kettering has been released on bail.
The man has been interviewed and released on bail pending further enquiries.
The score in the original game was 1-1 and the match was replayed last night at Lincoln City, which Kettering Town won 2-1.
A total of 621 Kettering fans travelled to Lincoln for the game and the Poppies displayed 'Poppies Against Racism' banners during the game.
After the original match, Lincoln City manager Peter Jackson claimed players and members of his coaching staff had been subjected to racial abuse.
He went on to make an official complaint to referee Simon Hooper.
After the allegation was made, Poppies chairman Imraan Ladak carried out an internal investigation and found no evidence of racism from Poppies fans.
On Friday, a spokesman from the club said: "Kettering Town have completed their investigation into the alleged incidents at the Lincoln City game on Saturday November 8. On request we have passed all the evidence that has been provided from Lincoln City, the FA, and our own supporters to the police.
"We would like to thank all for their constructive approach.
"Kettering Town feel that it would be inappropriate to comment any further until the outcome of these further investigations."
In a statement on Lincoln City's website on Monday, Imps Chairman Steff Wright said: "It was a shame that the game at Rockingham Road was somewhat overshadowed by the alleged racial abuse incident.
"Once the initial reactions to this incident had died down I am pleased to say it now appears that all parties concerned are dealing with the matter seriously and thoroughly."
Officers are still appealing for anyone who was at the match who may have witnessed any racist behaviour to come forward. Witnesses can contact police on 08453 700 700 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
