A milestone in the development of Corby town centre was reached this morning when a top clothes retailer opened its doors for the first time.
Hundreds of keen shoppers calmly walked through the doors of Primark's 33,000 square feet store in the town dot on 9am this morning.

A queue formed from about 8am, an hour before the doors were flung open with excitement.

First in the line was Shareen Kemp, 21, from Oakley Vale. She said: "Primark is cheap and good value.

"It's brilliant for Corby. I'm planning to buy anything and everything."

when the Cube and pool are finished and the old pool and willows is demolished that end of Corby town center is going to be STUNNING!And with Tresham moving out to the old C,C,C the "resturant and bar quarter" proposed will be the icing on the cake.

The town centre was buzzing with shoppers today. People will travel to Leicester or Northampton for Primark alone so hopefully now a lot of them will give Corby a shot and for a fraction of the travelling cost.

ahh all the same old Kettering hate comes through, warms my heart to think of you all having to sit still and watch Corby rise again(and many of you are coming to visit us here now),just as Kettering slides into the abyss.Dont worry im sure kettering will get something.......in about 10 to 15 years. In the mean time enjoy your boarded up town center at least it might improve the traffic.

Treat yourself to a wooly jumper from Primark Vic, you'll be getting cold in this arctic wind, what with all the peering over the fence you seem to be doing.. ;)
